Services

  • Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation

The first appointment (intake) is typically 60 minutes. During this initial visit I will conduct a thorough mental health assessment and evaluation where we will review medical and psychosocial history. We will discuss the issues that brought you in and your treatment goals. This initial visit is a consult to determine if my practice is a good fit for your needs. Together we will devise a treatment plan which may include talk therapy, lifestyle modifications, recommendations for professional-grade vitamin supplements, and/or prescribing medications to alleviate symptoms when appropriate. While a medication is sometimes prescribed at the first session, it may require more than one visit before a medication is prescribed. In some cases the recommendation may be other specialty referrals or referral to another treatment setting.

  • Medication Management (Psychopharmacology)

Sometimes medications are indicated to help alleviate mental health symptoms. I understand that taking medication to treat mental health conditions is a personal choice. I am cautious when I prescribe, and always take your individual needs, medical history, and unique circumstances into account. The goal will always be to use the lowest dose and least number of medications possible to minimize potential side effects and maximize your wellbeing. I will provide psychoeducation on the use of medications and support you through the process.

  • Talk Therapy

I integrate supportive psychotherapy into all my sessions, including shorter medication management visits (25-30 minute follow up). Longer psychotherapy sessions (45-60 minutes) with medication management are also available dependent on your needs and treatment goals. In our visits I may utilize principles from different therapy modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Meaning Centered Psychotherapy. I take a holistic approach and look at the whole person; addressing the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and environmental influences affecting your mental health and overall wellbeing. I place an emphasis on behavioral/lifestyle modifications, sleep hygiene, physical activity, nutrition, and other important aspects of self care.
